As Metal One Corporation (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Yoshiyuki Watanabe, CEO) announced on August 29 last year, Metal One Specialty Steel Corporation (headquartered in Osaka-shi, Osaka; Koji Okuyama, president) and Metal One Steel Products Corporation (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Atsushi Ichikawa, president) will merge to form a new company on April 1, 2026. Below are the official company name, the company representative’s position and name, and other pertinent facts.

 
The company name embodies meanings such as “connection and ties,” “linkage,” and “focal point/hub.” As a focal point connecting materials, processing, logistics and sales, for example, Nexus will utilize trading company capabilities to link customers in Japan and elsewhere with markets. Combining their networks and expertise, the company will also strengthen value chains overall and promote global expansion and digital transformation, with a major goal to produce new value and growth.

The management resources of both firms merging will be leveraged with maximum efficiency to boost capabilities and specialization, as well as to build an organization capable of responding to demands from all market participants.
