The Metal One Group operates businesses around the world and views the Earth itself as a vital stakeholder, since it will be shared with future generations. The Group regards balancing the preservation of the global environment with sustainable growth as a crucial responsibility, and promotes environmentally conscious business activities.

Based on this belief, we established our Environmental Charter to clearly define the attitudes and action guidelines that each employee must uphold. In addition, under our Environmental Policy, we have made environmental protection an integral part of our day-to-day business activities.
We will continue to pursue effective environmental management under a company-wide framework to help achieve a truly sustainable society.

Conscious of being a “global citizen” as proclaimed in our corporate philosophy, we hereby set forth the Metal One Group environmental charter, manifesting our desire to strive for sustainable social development through corporate activities that are solidly in harmony with our natural environment.

The Metal One Group treats global environmental issues as one of our key management issues. Based on an awareness of the “global citizen” embedded in our corporate philosophy, we strive to protect the global environment in all aspects of our corporate activities while seeking sustainable growth.

   We train all our executives and employees to ensure that they have a deep awareness of global environmental issues and bear the environment in mind as they carry out their corporate activities as “global citizens.” We will ensure that our Environmental Policy and initiatives are communicated to all officers and employees across the Group, while also disclosing them publicly to ensure transparency.

At Metal One, the president heads up the company’s environmental management system (EMS) administration organization, which sets guidelines related to the environment and handles EMS reviews designed to enhance operational effectiveness. Each environmental management group appoints personnel to handle environmental management duties, creating a framework that enables every employee to put environmental initiatives into practice through their work. We also use ISO 14001 as the operational foundation of the EMS to drive continuous improvement and enhance environmental performance.

The Metal One Group proactively promotes effective resource use and recycling through our business activities in the pursuit of a recycling-oriented society. As a corporate group whose core businesses are the sale and processing of steel products, we are expanding the use of environmentally friendly steel products. Steel is a recycling-oriented material that can be used over and over again, contributing significantly to the effective use of resources.

The Metal One Group is also one of the largest handlers of steel scrap and stainless steel scrap in Japan, playing a vital role in creating a resource-recycling society. We supply steel materials used in renewable energy facilities such as solar and wind power generation, and foster a society that conserves resources and energy by promoting the adoption of high-performance steel products from steel manufacturers, including lightweight, high-strength products.
