～ Initial Rollout in Thailand and Vietnam ～

Metal One Corporation (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Yoshiyuki Watanabe, president and CEO) and FPT, through its Japanese subsidiary, FPT Software Japan Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Do Van Khac, CEO) are pleased to announce that in January 2026, launched overseas services in the ASEAN region for Metal X UP®, a digital platform for the steel industry, beginning in Thailand and Vietnam.

Metal One developed the Metal X UP platform with the aim of transforming analog information in the supply chain into digital format and enhancing the efficiency and advancement of business operations and communication in the steel distribution business. Over 1,200 companies have already adopted the platform in Japan after its launch in early 2023. The platform significantly reduces workload by streamlining mill certificate and order processing management.

With this overseas expansion, we plan to leverage the digital transformation insights and knowledge we have cultivated to date, adapt Metal X UP’s capabilities to local and onsite conditions, and resolve operational problems in the ASEAN region.

The first service to be rolled out is mill certificate management in the ASEAN region. This feature simplifies the search and management of mill certificates, allowing users to download PDFs and metadata with a single click. This eliminates the need for traditional paper-based exchanges and the complexity of searching, which is expected to significantly boost operational efficiency for both trading companies and their customers.

Manufacturers in Thailand and Vietnam have already adopted the platform. Metal One will also dispatch personnel to our Thailand office who are well-versed in both the practical aspects of steel trading and digital technology. The two companies actively promote the rollout of these services throughout the ASEAN region.

FPT’s offshore software development team will handle the implementation process end-to-end, from development through operations. Leveraging the FPT Group’s proven track record in ASEAN, flexible resource structure, and development methods that actively use AI, FPT will speedily deliver feature additions and improvements while keeping operational costs low and ensuring consistent quality. The two companies will also collaborate to modify existing features to reflect customer needs, as well as introduce new features that drive digital transformation in the steel industry across the ASEAN region.

To further cultivate Metal X UP as a global standard platform, Metal One will seek to expand beyond the ASEAN region, address customer challenges with a strong commitment, and continue to provide services tailored to the needs of each region and country.
