New Melt-Cut Steel Plate Company Established in Brazil From Value One, Winter 2013-2014 No.43

To Capture Plate Demand from Leading Construction Machinery Manufacturers

Along with Shibaura Holdings, Inc. and Shibaura Shearing, Co. Ltd., Metal One has set up a new company in Brazil to melt-cut steel plates. Named Metal One Shibaura Brasil Ltda., the company was launched in June 2013, and is building a factory in Capivari, Brazil, about 160 kilometers northwest of Sao Paulo. The factory is scheduled to become fully operational in April of this year. This is Metal One’s fourth overseas base for plate processing, following two in China and one in India. It is the second such base for the Shibaura Group, with the first located in Indonesia.

The new company is capitalized at 50 million reals (around ¥2.3 billion), with Metal One holding a 60 percent share and the Shibaura Group taking a 40 percent share (25 percent for Shibaura Holdings and 15 percent for Shibaura Shearing).
