First Metal One Subsidiary in India

In June of last year, what had been our Representative Office merged with the Steel Products Department of Mitsubishi Corporation India, and our Indian subsidiary, Metal One Corporation India, commenced operations. Headquartered in New Delhi and with offices in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata, Metal One India covers the entire region with a total of 35 employees. Along with automotive steel products, our broad range of business lines includes stainless steel, wire rods, specialty steel, steel pipes, electrical sheets, steel plates, and steel sheets for cans. Diverse communities exist in the world's second most populous country, with more than 1.1 billion people and manifold faiths, and the offices of Metal One India reflect this diversity, with staff representing different religions, cultures, and lifestyles working together diligently.

Healthy Southern Indian Cuisine

When one speaks of Indian food, many people doubtlessly think of curry or tandoori cuisine. However, rice is the centerpiece of southern Indian meals. Crepe-like dosas and uttapams that resemble okonomiyaki (Japanese-style pancakes) are well-known among the foods that use rice flour. Chopped vegetables are added to rice flour or bean flour, and the crispy texture is quite enjoyable. The sambar that always accompanies southern Indian meals is something akin to Japan's miso soup and is eaten with chutney (mixed with mint, coriander, coconut, and tomato) on the side. Bean and vegetable dishes are the main types of food because there are many vegetarians in southern India. That is why you could say these kinds of meals are just right for people like me who are worried about their midsections.

Cricket, a Popular Sport

Cricket is a sport that has a fanatical following in India. Originating in England, this sport is said to have the highest number of competitors after soccer. It is not only scary to catch the hard ball barehanded when it comes flying at you but also rather difficult to stoically defend the field until all 11 players have batted. Our corporate staff lineup features many strong players, so give us a shout if you are interested in playing.

India's Changing Cities

India's main cities are changing considerably every year. Along with the construction of new airport terminals and work being done on subways and coastal roads, you now see many shopping malls. Suzuki Motor Corporation is a leading example of Japanese companies that have invested here. As of this year, exactly a quarter century has elapsed since Maruti Suzuki India Limited commenced sales. Recently, people who visit on business have often commented that along with the number and models, there has been a pretty big increase in how many good-looking cars are out on the roads in town. Even so, the familiar spectacle of stray bulls hunkered down in the road remains unchanged. Cows often sit in the center median strip, seemingly aware that wind from passing cars makes it the coolest spot. I would like to see many people get to know the charms of this country with its mixture of the changing and unchanging. Please stop by when you come to Southeast Asia for business.
