Integration and Reorganization of Metal One Group
Consolidation of Nissho Iwai Structural Steel and MC Metaltech

Metal One Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Masashi Mizutani) has been moving toward the consolidation of Nissho Iwai Structural Steel (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Hideo Katayama) and MC Metaltech (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasuhiro Kuroki) as part of its integration and reorganization of subsidiaries, a central plank in Metal One's "Mid-term Consolidated Management Plan." A new company, Metal One Structural Steel and Resource Corporation, will be established on April 1, 2004.

As the core company responsible for the Metal One Group's structural steel and processed ferrous materials business, the new company will assume all the business operations of Nissho Iwai Structural Steel and MC Metaltech. Metal One is also investigating the possibility of placing its own structural steel and processed ferrous materials operations under the new company as well as those for the sales regions in the Kansai area operated by Metal One Steel Products Corporation (headquartered in Osaka; President: Yoshiharu Harima; established January 2004). The activities of Metal One Structural Steel and Resource and the newly-founded WATEX Corporation (to be established March 1; see separate press release) will complement each other. WATEX is a region-specific sales company concentrating on inventory sales. Metal One Structural Steel and Resource Corporation will answer many of the needs of the construction steel and processed ferrous materials industries.
